The company ARM Germany GmbH releases its new version of software development environment for ARM microcontroller families. Keil MDK Version 5 is latest release of their complete software development environment for wide range of ARM, Cortex M, Cortex R based microcontroller devices. MDK includes the uVision IDE/Debugger, ARM C/C++ compiler and essential middleware components.
This development environment is very flexible and support wide range of microcontroller from different silicon vendors. MDK version 5 is now split into the MDK core and software packs which make new device support and middleware updates independent from toolchain. Software packs that add support for a complete microcontroller family packs. Today only some devices are supported by Device Software Packs, but company indicated that they will add support for more microcontroller devices shortly.
